oh mexico...as james taylor puts it, 'it sounds so sweet with the sun sinking low...' five years ago in june, i married my very best friend, jana kay.  after our wedding celebration, we slipped away to a small island off the coast of mexico and began our adventures as mr. and mrs. english.  we absolutely fell in love with the island, its colorful and authentic charm...the people, the water, the food, the beaches, the turtles*

seeing a chance to visit the island for a third time, celebrating our 5 years, we jumped at the opportunity and headed south of the border.  with our beautiful children in the hands of always fun and exciting grandparents, jana and i were blessed to take in a week of serene beauty and rest, just us...

an array of moments {wedding season at it's finest}

so it has been a spectacular season so far!  thank you so much for your patience as i try to figure out the rhythm of a blog, while still keeping consistent with my facebook posts. i wanted to share some of my favorite images from the past month as things have steadily picked up - i am constantly reminded how fortunate i am to do what i do.  i have incredible clients who time and time again, offer me their trust and most precious memories, and i have the fantastic privilege of sharing with them in what may be some of the most inspiring moments of their lives*

an english summer {fun.thus.far}

sometimes, when your work is holding a camera, it is nice to set the lens down and just be a part of the action...especially when that action is happening with children who seem to grow up right before my eyes.

but even with plenty of time without a camera in my hands..i seem to find myself reaching for one to capture those moments of joy, family, blessing, and all around fun!

here are a few shots from our family summer so far, amid weddings and engagements!

jana, ben, and norah are truly an undeserved gift from God, and for me, half the joy of taking pictures, is the forever reminder to remain humble in light of our faithful Father's blessings*

it is always a nice change of pace to venture outside of beautiful west michigan...and brighton delivered! i had a chance to drive through downtown with joe and olivia, plotting our photo possibilities, and i was enamored with the charm and character of this little town* a true treat along with the company of a splendid wedding party and a bride and groom who were incredibly gracious hosts.  joe & olivia, you two are great! thanks for inviting me along..i think you two look spectacular in these..i hope you feel the same way! :)

when i first met my wife...it was, in a sense, a two for one special* chelsea and jana: best of friends, thick as thieves, two peas in a pod...

i had the honor of having chels on my side as i fell in love with, pursued, courted, married, pursued, pursued, pursued my beautiful bride.

and now, jana and i have the honor of being on her side as chelsea soon will become mrs. max garter! chelsea has found a new best friend in max...an incredible man of God and now truly a good friend of mine*

so good for each other, so overjoyed, so clear eyed and head over heals in love.

being a part of their story is truly a humbling honor.  cheers for best friends in love!
